About Upper Arlington

Upper Arlington, located northwest of Columbus, is a historic neighborhood founded in 1918 and includes about 34,000 residents. Many of its older buildings have been preserved and continue to be occupied, which has led to Upper Arlington’s historic district being placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Upper Arlington has been named a “Tree City USA” since 1990 and also has an active horticulture program to enhance public landscapes. There are many parks, pools, and recreational centers for residents to enjoy, with amenities like tennis and shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, ball fields, and jogging paths. Upper Arlington boasts one of the top ranked school systems in Ohio, having been recognized on both a state and national level.
